Your Tongue-Tie "Tour de Bismarck" Ends Here

If I see one more mom driving a loop from South Bismarck to the North end and back again, all while a newborn screams in a car seat, I might actually lose it.

I know the drill. You’re worried about your baby’s latch. Maybe they’re making a clicking sound, maybe you’re "white-knuckling" it through every feeding (ouch), or maybe you’ve noticed they never, ever sleep with their mouth shut. So, you go to the pediatrician and they aren’t concerned. You’re sent home with the same questions. You talk to a lactation provider or a friend next. They send you to a dentist. The dentist mentions myofunctional therapy and body work…’What’s all that?!” you might say. Now you’re down a rabbit hole trying to figure out where to go and the best person to see to get you and your baby the help you need.

Suddenly, your "maternity leave" has turned into a full-time job as a specialized medical coordinator. (And no, it doesn’t come with a 401k or a lunch break that doesn’t involve a lukewarm string cheese and cold coffee.)

Stop the Run-Around

At Lykke Lactation, located inside Maximized Chiropractic, we decided to do things differently. Why? Because we like moms. And we think you’ve got enough on your plate without playing GPS tag across town.

We’ve brought the "Whole Human" approach to infant oral health under one roof. Here’s why we’re your new best friends:

  • I’m a Nurse & Holistic IBCLC: I don’t just "check the latch." I look at the mechanics (the baby’s oral function). I’ve gone down the myofunctional therapy and myofascial release rabbit hole because I care about how your baby’s tongue is going to work when they’re five, not just when they’re five days old. I care about their airway and (hopefully) saving you from orthodontics, not just getting them to breastfeed well.

  • In-House OT: We have a specialized Occupational Therapist right here in the office. While I’m looking at the milk transfer, she’s diving into the oral motor and myofunctional work.  (She’s basically the bridge between "my baby has a tie" and "my baby is a feeding rockstar.")

  • The Chiro Team: Baby’s are meant to be squishy and melt into your arms. If you’ve ever felt like your baby is a tiny, rigid board that arches constantly and cries in pain, that’s tension. Our doctors at Maximized specialize in pediatrics and work on the neuro-structural side of things. That means they work inside their mouth, their cheeks, their whole body. (It’s like a tiny spa day for a stressed-out baby system.) Our doctors help your baby’s brain communicate better with their body, which helps their body to be a comfortable place to live.

  • Preparation is Everything: We don't ever recommend a tongue or lip tie release without support before and after. We do the prep work in-office and the "homework" (prescribed exercises) so that if/when a release happens, the recovery is so much quicker and easier. We give you at-home tools so you can actually make progress and see changes happening in real time. You’ll work with our gentle pediatric chiropractors & OT alongside me at each visit until your baby has made functional progress and is ‘ready’ for their release.

Why "Just Okay" Therapy Isn't Enough

You might already be on the referral merry-go-round. You’re stressed about money and toying with selling your right arm to pay for myofunctional therapy with your local IBCLC, OT, or SLP and sell your left leg for a release with a dentist that specializes in tongue ties, not to mention all the necessary chiropractic/bodywork during preparation and recovery. When we’re dealing with proper airway breathing and lifelong oral motor patterns, it matters! But you shouldn’t have to sell your right arm….you need that too (wink).

At Maximized, we’re obsessed with the details (as one should be!). We want your baby to sleep better, eat better, and eventually, have the jaw structure of a Greek god (okay, maybe just a healthy airway, but you get the point).

The Best Part? The Wednesday Hangout.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and just need a "is this normal?" check, come see me. Every Wednesday from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, I host a free weight and latch check clinic at Maximized Chiropractic.

No fancy intake forms, no running across town. Just me, some scales, and a realistic look at how things are going. Because when your pediatrician tells you ‘there’s no tie’ but your nipples and your baby's temperament tell you a different story, we’re here to help you weed through the BS and make a plan for success.

Bottom line: Your baby isn’t a collection of separate parts. They’re one tiny, complex human and we treat them that way! (And you can keep your arms and legs when you work with us).

No crazy unfair fees. Just real life support and lasting results.
